Drop dead spammer[ Parent | Reply to This ] (none / 0) (#9)

The comment above mine needs to be removed for its spammy signature, which has already been changed at least once. First it was breast enlargement, now it's herbal "pharmaceuticals".

I try...[ Parent | Reply to This ] (none / 0) (#12)

I try to go through periodically and remove spam.

However, in an effort not to abuse the ability, if the main post appears related (which means the guy took the time to compose the post rather than spambotting), I give the benefit of the doubt.

Unless I hear otherwise from Ed, I'm not going to change that policy.

[Side note:  anti-spam question
Which of the following is not a car?
Jaguar, Saab, Avocado, Ferrari, Mini, Citroen

I could make an argument for Citroen as well as the "correct" answer]

It is a borderline case. Normally if it appears to be a real post, I don't mind a short signature link. But since this link is suspicious, maybe I need a clearer rule. Any suggestions? -- Ed

Signature links[ Parent | Reply to This ] (none / 0) (#14)

To me this isn't merely a signature link, it's an attempt to make spam look legitimate.

Signature Link[ Parent | Reply to This ] (none / 0) (#15)

I frequently leave a signature link to my wife's little website design business when I post. I never post just to have the link but it is nice that Ed allows this within reason. I don't anticipate ever getting any clicks from Ed's readers, but hopefully google will find it and think we're important. Usually like this:

A different thing entirely[ Parent | Reply to This ] (none / 0) (#17)

Signatures with links to one's own business don't bother me. I don't think that's what's going on here, though, especially since the link seems to have changed to a different business since it was originally posted.
