Common Dell Issue[ Reply to This ] (none / 0) (#11)

Dell does make some great deals on hardware, but when you have to deal with their customer service and technical support, this is a VERY COMMON and LONG STANDING problem. I've posted here a few times about how I was continually bounced around while trying to deal with Dell tech support (my best one being from 8am ET - 10pm ET -- FOURTEEN HOURS STRAIGHT!).

Dell's problem is that they are so large and spread out, they don't have a lot of good information on-hand and they don't have a lot of individuals who are highly trained. Most likely turnover for support is very high and they have to keep throwing warm bodies into the spots to try to keep the phones answered, and they're not dedicating enough time and money towards training and support.

The money you save on a Dell is wasted away when you have to deal with the lack tech/customer support. Your best bet, in all honesty, is to adopt the motto of "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." Take your price savings in-stride.
