Two thoughts.  The credit cards with just a few $s are easy to use.  Most retail stores can handle these.  If you have a purchase for say 10$ and you have a card with $.17, just give them that card first.  They will swipe it and then you will owe $9.83.  Just pay the balance.

I have also been told that you can take the card to your bank and deposit them like a check.  Have not done this so not sure if it works.  

I agree with the previous posts, when you get them, dump them ASAP!!!  Buy groceries, or convert to cash.
