Dell does have its moments sometimes (note: just like HP, Gateway, etc.) and when it does, it can get really aggravating. I think the OP has a right to be upset based on the information at hand.

However, the article byline led me to believe that there were problems with Dell's entire Vostro line until I read further. I find that a bit misleading, as it seems only one model affected.

That doesn't absolve Dell of the problem, and I don't want to belittle the OP. I hope Ed can get a satisfactory answer for you from someone higher up at Dell for you.
