Additional information out there[ Reply to This ] (none / 0) (#13)

Unfortunately, the new questions don't really solve the problem for long. It is simply more personal information out there that may be used to impersonate you if compromised. And some of the security questions go over the line. Three I saw recently were "Mother's Maiden Name", "Father's Middle Name", and "Your Place of Birth". All information requested for loan applications. One useful feature is that the answers aren't verified, and aren't even checked for reasonableness. So I've taken to answering questions with standard unrelated answers. For example: Q1: "Color of your first car?" A1: "DoG" Q2: "Mother's Maiden Name?" A2: "AlbuQuerQue" Q3: "Your favorite food?" A3: "MadOnna" Easy to remember, and gives away nothing if the information at that organization is compromised.
