Mr. Smith SHOULD set up an online account for Mr. Jones and using that access end the e-billing and e-notices from DirecTV. The other alternative would depend on the information he is receiving about Mr. Jones. If the snail mail address is included, he could always send a letter to Mr. Jones informing him of the situation and suggesting he take action to remedy the problem. If neither of those is possible he can report the emails as SPAM and not worry about it. As an honest man, once he has taken reasonable steps to correct the error without any resolution, he should just walk away and forget it. Regardless of the end result, he should keep an eye on his account to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to him, with the possibility that a more unscrupulous individual getting his private information.
