hidden email address update areas[ Reply to This ] (none / 0) (#12)
by nicievans on Wed Nov 21, 2007 at 09:49:16 AM PDT

I ran into something similar with my local phone company - my email address had been notified in my profile, but had not been changed for my sign-on. I notified them, and they updated my account. When I still couldn't find anywhere to update my email address for the sign-on, I contacted them again and let them know that the old information allowed me to access my ex-husband's phone records. It took only seconds for them to close that access, and very few days for them to add the ability to update the sign-on information as easily as updating one's profile. PS - The real reason they didn't want to contact the customer had less to do with privacy than fear of lawsuit.
