Let's LAF about this. As you said, the consumer is getting screwed whether they can litigate or arbitrate. It is no longer a matter of competition with superior products or services in the industry for your dollar. It is about who can provide the least and get away with the most without being sued for raping Joe Customer. I quit buying Gateway products years ago, and I am surprised to see people still haven't learned. Support your local economy and community!!! You can get better products (& SERVICE) for about the same or less from your local neighborhood white box/clone computer store. This is my way of giving the finger to those long distance usurer corporate bastards and showing them there are other alternatives!

Yes ... if you can find it, that is. Guess what's in the stores in the local mall though? Big name brands. Guess which get the lion's share of advertising time in your area? Big name brands. Simply finding these "local" stores probably means actually actively searching for them. Most people will probably be unaware whether one even exists near them, let alone what it's called and where it is. And of course the local Future Shop or similar big electronics chain store is going to push them out of business at some point in the near future.
