Dell's 3 departments (none / 0) (#4)

The advice I've always heard for Dell is to spec out your part on all the parts of their site: enterprise, small business, and home. They're all totally independant and run different specials, sales, prices, and coupons, and chances are good you'll save a lot in the long run if you're a big dell customer. And then check to see if it's listed under another model's umbrella. It's a PITA, I have no idea where they get the wildly different prices from, and usually no matter what this sales rep says, they absolutely will not give you the lower price unless you find it first.

Fortunately Dell doesn't seem to care where you buy from, unlike some companies that will hide or rigidly enforce pricing rules.
