People seem to have missed out on this point and it applys to more than just credit card information.

There are a whole bunch of regulations that prevent Hilton (or anyone else) distributing personal/financial information and it's not in their interest to do so anyway. Hilton makes billions of pounds every year selling bed and breakfast, do you really think they would make even a fraction of that amount selling your personal information? That's not the business they are in. They sell bed & breakfast, they are not an IT or marketing company.

The fact is, when you book a room you give your name, email address, postal/billing address and your credit card details. How do they use this? Your name & email address will be used for email marketing purposes IF YOU OPT-IN, your postal address and name will be used for marketing purposes and it's made pretty clear how to opt-out of this. Your credit card-details will never be used and held as securley as any other company.
