MBFS are also spamming me (none / 0) (#2)
by Anonymous User on Thu Mar 04, 2004 at 01:06:45 PM PDT

... spam defined as any mailing list you CAN'T get off. Being interested in their product, I signed up on their "product updates" mailing list several years ago. About two years ago they switched to sending it in particularly evil HTML, and I decided that I wanted off the list. Since then I've tried several times to get off the mailing list, but all attempts have failed: the unsub page doesn't work, and no one at any MBFS email address answers my requests either. (Next time, I'm going straight to their provider with my complaint.)

Between the above, and having now been made aware of their draconian (but **unenforceable) website "EULA", I will never under any circumstances buy ANY of their products. Obviously, they've become a completely horseshit company.

** "By reading this comment, you agree to pay me One Million Dollars" is exactly the same sort of "Webpage EULA". But since you did not agree to the "contract", it is likewise unenforceable.

However, the MBFS bullshit does serve to frighten average folk (who don't know any better) into never giving MBFS any "bad press".

I have a suspicion MBFS's "agreement" may even be illegal -- if so, it would be nice to see some bright lawyer put an end to this crap.
