If you want to eliminate SPAM, go after the companies that hire them. I know you can not go after them legally, but the power of the boycott is very powerful. I remember, in college, a marketing professor told me that a 'satisfied customer will tell a few friends and a dissatisfied one will tell dozens'. Let these companies know that if they use spammers, they will pay a price.
