I totally agree. I have been using a little origo bluetooth dongle, and by some strange twist of fate lost my drivers cd a few days before i was forced to wipe my hard disk. So I decided to use the glorious internet in order to try and find those drivers.

Well the official site obviously cares about its consumers loads, appearing to not bother putting any drivers up at all, let alone updated ones, but eventually found a forum thread on google (how i found this thread as well) which gave a link to the software (which, strangely enough, WAS actually hosted on the official site).

So a smile crept on my face as i saw the familiar icon in the corner... only to get the message that i don't have the license for that particular piece of hardware.

What I can't understand, as you said i believe, is WHY it includes this DRM in the first place, as only people with bluetooth devices would ever need it, and if the device you own didn't come with the software then chances are that widcomm wouldn't work with it anyway!
