Breach of contract[ Reply to This ] (none / 0) (#1)
by Howling on Thu Sep 04, 2003 at 11:26:55 AM PDT

software companies seem to love their software license agreements that keep growing with the legalize.  But when they change a policy breaching an estabilished contract is not an issue.

The problem is money vs. frustration with a vendor.  Even just a letter from a lawyer stating ZoneAlarm did something illegal would cost more than the update and support contract value.  (can any say class action).

A simple registered letter to the president & legal department notifying them of their exposure if something get to his machine if the contracted (and paid for) updates are not provided they are liable for the damages might get their attention.
